you don't because they don't exist but you can do some pretty sick things with aggressive skates which you can buy from many sites like rollerwarehouse or aggressivemall

There are no AT's, we're an inline skating site. Also, please register for membership rather than ghosting as a guest.

This is the toughest subject to give advice on... I've skated every brand since Oxygen, and tried almost everything currently out there for aggressive skates. For those looking for "cheap" skates, your best bets are: Razors Genesys or Cults. Solid, reliable, easily customized. Gens are a bit wider, and the souls hold up better, slightly more expensive though. Cults tend to be narrower, souls don't last as long, but a great value point blade. USD VII's. Wouldn't bother with Realms as they are ankle breakers. Lol. Not bad blades just not much ankle support. VII's are a GREAT price point skate. Fast, wide souls. Great ankle support but not stiff. Wide, but not overly so. K2 Fatty's. Very comfy. Not very customizable, no replaceable parts, but at the price they're at it doesn't matter. Lol. Stay away from the old all black ones. The newer ones with the ice blue highlights are ill though. RB Solo or New Jack. Solos are a bit stiff. Very solid, although the soul plates are a bit prone to shattering/fast wearing. Very good skates. For cheap money. New Jacks. Classic TRS. If they still made replacement souls, I would STILL be riding these. Cheap or not, if it ain't broke... Why mess with it? Valo. Good blades. Flexy. Solid. Memory buckle is awesome. Tend to run a bit narrow though. Also parts get pricey. SSM. Good blades. Fast souls. Flexy. Toe cut makes em pretty good for downsizing. I.e. I wear a size 8-8.5 shoe, but a size 8 liner in a 6-7 shell SSM fits great. Remz. Not for everyone. The new 1.2's are awesome but pricey. OS. Ok blades. Almost more a strap on skate than anything. Frame placement causes ankle probation, and the v-cut lacks any support for your ankles. Very light though. Also easy to control grinds in. Xsjado. Surprisingly flexy. Yet very supportive. Extremely comfy. Is a strap on skate, but certainly doesn't feel like one. Huge souls (albeit a bit slow sliding). Easy to control. Great buy for the money, but parts will need frequent replacement. Fortunately they are reasonably priced. Any questions, hmu. John

Bostonsk8er, do you know of any skates that have good shock absorbtion and good ankle support? Due to a painful problem with my right (my dominant) ankle, i can't use some skates without a great deal of pain. I've been looking around, but knowladge from someone with good experience of skates could be very useful!

Try Razors SLs or Genesys. Both fill both your necessary requirements of good shock absorption and ankle support. SLs are narrower, and feel much closer on grinds than most skates. The cuffs are nice and stiff, and the liners are comfortable and pretty supportive as well. Gens are a little wider, not quite as stiff of a cuff, but still quite supportive. They don't feel quite as close on grinds, but they are tried and true, and much less likely to have hardware issues. Both are excellent skates, but it's a matter of personal choice as to what suits you best.

I couldn't recommend TRS New Jacks more. They're so damn good for so damn cheap. Riding them for 6 years now.

They are great blades. My only complaint is RB's not bothering with replacement parts since 05 or so... Loved my DT3's, and my New Jacks. Just hated being ass out when the plates wear through, or the cuffs get floppy... And don't let that deter any of you from considering them. I just dont suggest them once you get past a certain point in your skills, as it gets annoying having to buy new blades every few months.

One thing that annoys me about rollerblade is they dont look stylin, every other company has stepped it up since 5 years ago except for rollerblade, I would recommend every other company considering that rollerblade havent really improved to heavily on their skates unlike every other company. Of course this is my personal opinion but no one in 300+ bladers in my city skate RB. haha

I wouldn't go that far. Look at Razors. The last truly "new" skate they made was the SL. That came out in like '04... Remz just came out with their first new skate since the OS this year. And the OS dates back to either '06 or '07. Valo has released a carbon fiber version of their standard skate, but other than the material, nothing really changed. Even the souls. They went down to two pieces, but still retain the same shape! And no more moonshines.... SSM. No changes since the Nimh V1. I won't touch USD as they're dropping more new skates than I can count. The Carbon, Carbon2, Carbon 3, Carbon 4, Carbon Free, Imperial, VII... Feels like I'm forgetting some as well. Lol. Xsjado. Nothing new except the Damien Wilson maxi pad. And that was... '07? The 2.0 is a perfect example of good old Conference marketing. Delay, delay, delay... RB is doing alright, all things considered. They brought the Solo series out like what, three or four years ago? I don't like them personally, as they're a bit stiff for me, but they do have fast souls, tight fit, and single size shells. Also they have a new price point skate coming out soon... Are they stylish ? No, not by a long shot... But they are functional. And that's something.

I like the bulk look of RB's, actually lol. The only bad thing to me about them, is that it makes Soul Grinds, or anything using the grinding block, really, a task and a half. The plates wideness often gets in the way, messing up what would have been a perfectly normal grind. That isn't to say there aren't better skates. I just like New Jack 2's a lot.
Also, don't the TRS and New Jack's have interchangeable parts? As far as I know, a TRS grind insert will fit in a New Jack, and vice versa. They sell those on the internet. As far as other parts go, Razor Solo or USD Carbon straps should work, and nearly all RB frames are the same, save for older models. The only thing that's no longer replaceable are cuffs and midsoles. It's a bit trickier than it should be, but it's possible.

So I just got new skates (cheap big5 airwalks) and really the only problem I'm having with them at the moment is the bearings. Can anyone suggest some decent bearings? All the retailers say the best is to buy online but without knowledge of whats what I'm not sure what to get. Also, as a side thing, are the stock wheels fine or are those going to screw up my ride as well?
