Gotta start somewhere, as there is a plethora of aftermarket parts available... Lol.
Alright, my latest purchase was the new Trust Spec Ops black, in a size 8, which I bought from Aggressivemall.
Out of the box, I could tell right away these weren't going to be ANYTHING LIKE I'D EVER SKATED BEFORE... First off, there was no proper tongue! Second, there was a seam... RIGHT UNDER THE MIDDLE OF THE FOOT?! And they were PAPER THIN?!
All I thought was... I got gypped!
Boy was I DEAD WRONG!!!
For all their complete and total weirdness, these liners are far superior to anything else I've EVER skated, including Reigns and Salomon's. Sacrilege, I know, but TRUE.
the padding used on these is no more, or less, than necessary anywhere on the foot. I don't feel any pressure points at all with them in skates I'm accustomed to feeling pressure points in. That good.
The weird "tongueless" design? Sheer genius. Haven't felt a buckle when flexing forward since getting these. No more random tongue sliding either! No matter how long I skate! Loving it!
That seam I mentioned under the foot? Not a problem. Even as thin as the Trust footbed is, I can't feel it at all. Or with any other footbed
for that matter. And as an added bonus, it seems to be the only stitched together part of them.
The PVC waves do the job of preventing the liner from sliding around quite well, honestly. Better than the rubber or other plastics most manufacturers use!
The neoprene toe certainly allows for a great deal of comfort, even with my wide feet in a narrow undersize skate. Works well at absorbing the hard impact on drops and gaps. Very nice!
The lacing system. It works fine, what more can I say? Lol.
Word to the wise...
These liners WERE DESIGNED FOR DOWNSIZING SKATES. That said, if you buy size 8 SL's, for instance, and you have size 8 feet, but get these liners... That's on you! It ain't gonna feel right, and you're gonna wanna blame me, but I told you not to... So just don't.
If however you are a size eight, and buy say a 6-7 shell SL, with these liners, you WILL BE HAPPY. Or at least your feet will be.
These liners get a 20 on a scale of 1-10.
