What I mean is, how do you prepare yourself for a grind? Do you need to get in a certain position? I enter the rail from the side at first (middle ish based on length) till i am comfortable enough to grind it from the center not sure if its the same for everyone but you could give it ago

Its just muscle memory for you man you think with your body when you do things instead of with your mind. You can visualize and then do, i can do the same when i need to adjust a breakdance move (Im a aspiring bboy), but for me to learn a move i have to know it mentally and physically.

ok i have recreational skates with wheels in the middle (you know like normal) and i have been told by some punk skate rats that you can grind while still having those wheels there.
every time i try the wheels catch and i come to a dead stop.
are they just messing with me or is there a specal trick to it ? ? ?

It's probable that they meant soul grinds, if they have a but of a flat sole. Did they specify h-block type grinds?

Yeah man, they had to have been. There's no way to grind between wheels, without anti rockers. Rubber/ rubber-plastic have a lot of friction. A LOT.
