As far as marketing goes I feel adds would work well with roller skate companies and rec skate companies, there current marketing is to a younger demographic and this is a child friendly sport, site may need censoring at poinys, and I don't feel we completely fit in to the aggressive skate comp setup other then D class.

im not shore what your referring to but i feel this sport could grow if the sport was not just marketing to Rollerblades. most people on this site most likely had skates in the 90s or was introduced to the sport from a videogame or manga that were not connected to the main rollerblading industry. if this trend continues the sport could easily end in our or the next generation. i know that sounds pessimistic but i can see no possible way for the sport to survive if it is not being introduced to people who do not already Rollerblade. having a large race in a public area could show the sport to people that may have never thought of ever purchasing a pair of skates.

Well, at some point you're right. If to be exact - that the more people with wheels know about this the better. However, try not to get me wrong, in my opinion Parts War would be much better if it will stay unofficial, away from authorities, sponsors, advertisments and all of that kind of garbage. Call it underground if you want. Let us dive in a nearest future and try to imagine, what it would be like: 1) Most of major rollerblading companies did noticed Parts War. What I think will happen next is the project would be sold and turned into a huge advertisement company and after a couple of years will just fall apart, all thanks to those not really good folks who think they know what we need. 2) OR it can stay the way it is - known only by those who CARE about it. People will bring their friends, and those friends will bring their friends and so on. It will be developing slowly, but steady. Folks battle for parts, emblems, turf and just for pride and joy. Parts War will gain fame of an underground tournament, out of sight of officials, with it's own rules where only the strongest survives. It will become the other side of rollerblading world, dangerous, but so alive and wonderful.

i agree that there is a danger in allowing industries to be apart of this event but i feel that there only power would be purchase of add space on this board and funding larger events where the parts war can be known by non riders. for example if the parts war was to host and advertise a race allowing all skate types we would be more likely reach a younger audience and parents looking to have and event for there kid.

i understand that over coverage is bad, and im not trying to say we need to be a covered on tv, i dont feel if we having a pubic comp would change anything about the parts war, but i fell we have a chance to have grow the sport by having a race event. there are not many rollerblading race events in the US. and it would be fun for the whole parts war to come together for an event. i also dont want a parts war that is completely put in to main stream, but having an event will help our sports image and would be good for everyone to ride together. and think of it this way if we do end up having a mass session with many riders our emblems and our actions will be advertising the parts war to everyone around us, so why not have an event where they can learn moor about the parts war and help to rase money for PWN to help all riders. and with moor riders it will be allow for moor battles and an moor easy time finding people to ride with in your area. i honestly do not feel that would be a detriment to our sport to have some advertising out to the world to see. and its not going to cause a mainstream movement to our sport, think about all the add time that went in to the x games, people out side the sports sill saw action sports as vandals and criminals, we sill got kicked from spots, we still had to work around security guards, we still were for the most part an underground community.
