Ive noticed something and im still a begginer at skating but im sure im not a commplete lost i mean i balance on my skates, but when ever i kick i can never really go as fast as i want. it seems like all the work i put in ends up not being used any thoughts

Well first and foremost, how are you kicking? what does your stride look like? secondly, how are your knees bent, and how are you positioned as a whole?

Um I would say when i'm kicking and trying to build up speed I am in a decent almost squat position and my stride is the usual side to side V shape strides and sometimes I try to sway into those strides

Uh, try to watch some speed-skating videos (don't try double-pushing thing however, that would be too hard for you to pick up as a beginner), they have some pretty effective techniques. Borrow a stopwatch somewhere, get your blades and get to the nearest stadium, nail some laps, watch the time, analyze.
It's easy, really.

lol yes then you should be good to go with just practice then other advice i can think of is keep low, use your arms, keep trying to find that perfect transition point between strides. and if ur using stock bearings you may want to try to switch them out, generic bearings normally don't have shallow tracks so there's a good bit of extra friction that doesn't need to be there, try swiss bearings, i recommend reds for good cheep bearings. also if you are riding smaller wheals you will have a lower top speed (smaller wheals travel less per rotation, good for acceleration bad for top speed) idk much about how you are skating and what you are skating so im trying to cover all the bases. even with all the equipment form is still key VF

although you can make a V shape with your strides try actually running on your skates as fast as you can blading is like soccer its all footwork. master your feet and youll score a goal.

also keep in mind utilizing your momentum and speed are 2 different things fear is what causes you to use your momentum but if you already know what you are doing there is no need for momentum if your well trained speed is speed you can go faster then you think the problem is how fast can you go before you hurt yourself hurting yourself is what causes alot of riders to go at the pace they feel safe...while traveling at your pace im intent on surpassing you even if it means i have to hurt myself in the long run victory will be so much sweeter..thats just what my thoughts are
eliminate fear...

Atrix, fear is the mind killer, kill it before it kills you, right? Chill out folks, he rides standard aggressive setup, he won't go any faster until he switches to something with bigger wheels.

shadow? do u have a thing against standard aggressive, you make alot of comments against smaller wheels. there are advantages to smaller wheels, mainly having to do with grinding. i like larger wheals because the mor ruff terrain in can blade on, but smaller wheels are great for park skating hand rails and "aggressive" skating (witch is mostly grinds) smaller wheals also are lighter and anti rocker set ups are supper light. smaller wheals are also more stable for gaps because the moor flat profile and the fact you are closer to the ground. you can still get a lot of speed out of smaller wheels just not the same top speed as with larger ones, and is going to take more strides to get up to speed with smaller wheals.
i also honestly think barrings will have a greater effect on speed then wheel size, for ex a 60mm wheel with bones swiss bearings will have about the same top speed of a 80mm with stock china maid any abec bearings.

Smaller wheels are stable, right. Grinding is easier, right. Landing gaps is also easier, right. BUT, I have never seen ANY aggressive skater OUTSIDE the damn park. What I mean is, why should I limit myself to a certain spot on the map (unless it's training session) when I can have the whole city as my playground? Also I have never seen ANY aggressive skater to outrun any other skater, except another aggressive rider. I still haven't seen F-Class battle played on aggressives, lol, that would be hilarious. Same goes for all other classes. Traditional aggressive frames are outdated. Period.
Tell me at least one good reason why should I choose these pennys that would merely allow me to roll around, when I can get 76mm Level 2 or 80mm Arrow frames and do ABSOLUTELY everything from traditional frames and dash around the city without almost any limits.
Geez, guys, open your minds, world isn't just a bunch of rails and ledges!
